‘A relaxed Summer wedding in Nottingham with a neutral colour scheme’
What was your inspiration for your special day?
The vision for our wedding day was to be timeless and elegant, therefore we decided on a neutral colour scheme.
With the stunning location that Cockliffe provides we were able to do this very easily with the help from our amazing stylist Charlotte, from Balloons and Beyond. Charlotte instantly knew exactly what we wanted and she brought our vision to life making everything look so beautiful.
We knew that we wanted ourselves as well as our family and friends to feel very chilled throughout the day, and Cockliffe provided the perfect atmosphere for this!
What was the best part of your day?
The best part has to be the reception!
This is where our family and friends got.to come together and enjoy themselves with dancing and laughter.
As much as we both loved exchanging our vows as our registrar was so lovely, getting down to “oops upside your head” will always be a great memory.
Why did you choose Cockliffe Country House?
We knew we wanted a summer wedding where our guests had the freedom of either being indoors or out. We also knew we wanted a venue that felt classic without being out dated and Cockliffe is perfect for that!
It was the first and only venue that we went to see as we instantly fell in love with it!
How did you decide which menu was right for your day?
As soon as we saw tapas and paella, we knew that was the menu for us.
We felt that this option was a unique and memorable touch to the day, and provided us with the laid back vibe we were looking for.
Cockliffe were amazing with any requests we had, and the food was all absolutely stunning!
What was the hardest part of your wedding planning?
We had such amazing people around us that we never really felt stressed during our wedding planning as everyone helped to make it go smoothly.
The little things such as seating arrangements may have been the hardest as we wanted to ensure that everyone felt comfortable. It is only a couple of hours that people are sat for, and in the end I don’t think anyone really cares as long as their drinks are topped up and they’re fed.
What were your favourite parts of the venue?
The outdoor area, this was so key for me. So having the patio and garden section made this venue stand out. The building itself is just beautiful, as well as the rooms for us and our guests to stay on for the night. The rooms had character which I loved!
If you have any advice for new marrying couples, what would it be?
Try to be calm.
We both honestly loved our day and I think a lot of that comes from staying calm and present and soaking the day in. Don’t let minor things worry you or overshadow the day, because it honestly doesn’t matter!
Just savor the day because it goes by so quickly!
