Katie and Adam

Wedding Date – 5th September 2024
‘A beautiful September wedding with a blue colour scheme and subtle disney theme’

Step into a truly magical September celebration at Cockliffe Country House in Nottingham. Katie and Adam’s wedding was a romantic blend of subtle Disney magic and elegant “Cinderella blue” details, creating a day full of love, creativity, and unforgettable moments.

What was your inspiration for your special day?

We got engaged in Disneyland Paris and Disney holds a special place for us, and we wanted to incorporate this into the wedding without it being too much in your face. So, we opted for a subtle fairytale theme with fairytale books as center pieces, happily every ever back drop and a Cinderella blue coloring. We also wanted our day to be as personalized as possible, Katie went out of her way to ensure there were tiny touches that did just that. Items such as personalized toast glass toppers, mini shot bottles and DIY sweet favors. All the invites and name cards were also done by Katie as well as the seating plan and reserved seat signs.

What was the best part of your day?

The best part of our day was seeing each other at the end of the aisle, and getting to say “I Do”. Also, when we got the chance to see the completed set up for out wedding breakfast and how all the colors and decorations had come together, it was amazing! The whole day was amazing and despite little obstacles during the day, the Cockliffe team was incredible at ensuring everything went smoothly despite some hiccups.

Why did you choose Cockliffe Country House?

Honestly, it was the feeling we got when we went to see it for the 1st and 2nd time and the staff. We honestly felt that the staff could not of been more helpful and that their priority was for us to have the wedding day of our dreams. Obviously the venue is also STUNNING so this also helped make the decision.

How did you decide which menu was right for your day?

Our decision was mainly based on price, however before looking at pricing we had an idea of the meal we wanted which was a hearty almost traditional meal. We ended up choosing the braised beef as the main and we couldn’t be happier. We had sooo many compliments on the day and since the wedding on how incredible the food was. The chef does an incredible job.

What was the hardest part of your wedding planning?

The hardest part of wedding planning is honestly the pressure that you put on yourself to ensure the day is perfect. All the little details and ensuring you’ve ordered everything or got enough of everything and it can be overwhelming at times. In the beginning the hardest part was making decisions about what we wanted our wedding to be. But as soon as you decide on the big things, everything just falls into place. I promise the stress is worth it!

What were your favourite parts of the venue?

We absolutely love the outdoor space that Cockliffe has to offer! Including the courtyard, the back out the house and the vegetable garden. Our photos were incredible because of the stunning landscape that we got to take them in.

If you have any advice for new marrying couples, what would it be?

Our advice for marrying couples would be to enjoy every single minute because it goes by in the blink of an eye. It’s easier said than done when you pile a million things on your plate because you put that pressure on yourself for everything to be perfect. Trust me – no matter what, as long as your there with the love of your life at the end of the aisle, surrounded by friends and family, you will have the best and most happiest day of your lives. We wouldn’t change a single thing about our wedding. Don’t stress if everything doesn’t go exactly to plan. Sometimes it works out better or it’s a funny story to link to your day. Most importantly it is your day, and in the planning stages and decision making remember that…it is YOUR day.
