Describe your wedding day in 3 words…
Magical. Perfect. Emotional.
What was your inspiration for your special day?
We used Pinterest and created mood boards, we opted for subtle, neutral, timeless and classic. The aim was a relaxed but fun filled wedding. We wanted it to be really personalised and because our dog couldn’t be there with us to celebrate we added a little picture sticker of her to our favours. Also, we did EVERYTHING ourselves from the centrepieces and flower wall to the small little details and the stationery. Everything you see from the wedding was created by us which made it even more personalised and special.
What was the best part of your day?
Every.Single.Part.
This was the best day of our lives and it felt like a real life fairytale. Mainly because we finally got married but all the hard work Cockliffe put into the day made it that bit more special, they truly went above and beyond.
Why did you choose Cockliffe Country House?
Cockliffe were an extremely accommodating, warming and friendly venue. All of the staff were so friendly and went that extra mile to make it the day of our dreams. We love the venue that much that we returned for Christmas dinner!
How did you decide which menu was right for your day?
We attended the tasting evening and although all of the food was delicious, what stood out the most for us was the deep friend brie for starters, beef for mains and a passionfruit posset for dessert.. which can I say was absolutely UNREAL!
What was the hardest part of your wedding planning?
The hardest part would be putting all the last minute bits together just before the wedding. It was hard making sure we had everything we needed, safe to say plenty of checklists were needed! I was that stressed bride who would worry about the smallest of things such as making sure the candles are in the right place and the flowers are all uniform, I can’t tell you how grateful I am to Cockliffe who made sure all of this was absolutely perfect. They came in extra early to set it all up as they knew how stressed I was about it.
What were your favourite parts of the venue?
The Elliott Suite sold it to us, the most gorgeous room and we also absolutely fell in love with the French style windows.
If you have any advice for new marrying couples, what would it be?
Enjoy every moment, take every minute in as it goes by so fast. Relax and have fun – don’t stress or worry about anything because all the worry goes away on the day. Finally, spend as much time with your partner as possible because ultimately it’s about just the two of you and the love you have for each other.
