Nelli and Stephen
Wedding Date – 9th June 2024
‘An intimate and personalised June wedding with a rose gold colour scheme’
Nelli and Stephen celebrated with us last Spring for their beautifully intimate and personalised June wedding day. Filled with lots of unique touches making their day uniquely theirs, including elements from Nelli’s Bulgarian background. Find out all about how they mind their day exactly how they wanted to, here…
What was your inspiration for your special day?
Our inspiration for our wedding day came from the things most meaningful to me and my partner – shared values, memories, and dreams. It included our favorite colors and elements from my (Nelli) Bulgarian background. Stephen and I are not really great on attention, we don’t enjoy being in the spotlight and having all eyes on us. Which is why we were inspired by the desire to create a day that reflects our unique love story, making sure it felt intimate, joyful, and true to who you both are.
What was the best part of your day?
It’s hard to think of only one best moment. It was all brilliant – our vows, the first dance and being with family and friends who came to celebrate with us. Then again, if we really have to choose – we’d say the ceremony. That was the moment we felt it all happening for real, we were together in the moment, connected and surrounded by love.
Why did you choose Cockliffe Country House?
We chose Cockliffe Country House for its charming atmosphere, beautiful grounds, and the ability to make the space our own. The venue’s reputation for excellent service and its intimate setting made it the perfect choice for our special day.
How did you decide which menu was right for your day?
We chose the menu for our wedding by considering our favorite foods, guest preferences, and the overall vibe we wanted for the day. We were looking for a balance between dishes that we both love and options that would appeal to our guests, ensuring everyone could enjoy the meal. Also, we were very impressed with the tasting sessions and recommendations from the venue which massively helped us decide on our perfect menu.
What was the hardest part of your wedding planning?
The hardest part of planning the wedding was balancing all the details. Coordinating the budget, managing expectations, and ensuring everything aligned with our vision while staying organised was challenging. It’s a lot to juggle, and making sure everything came together smoothly on the big day required effort and attention to detail.
What were your favourite parts of the venue?
The charming and intimate atmosphere, the beautiful outdoor spaces for photos, and the elegant yet cozy indoor areas for the ceremony and reception are all our favourites. We loved the exclusivity and privacy the venue offered for our special day.
If you have any advice for new marrying couples, what would it be?
We have 4 rules in our relationship and marriage:
Communicate clearly: Talk openly about your needs and feelings.
Work together: Face challenges as a team and support each other.
Ask for help if needed: Get support if you face difficulties; it’s okay to ask for help.
Never go to bed angry with each other : Resolve conflicts before the day ends to keep peace and understanding.
