Alberto and Treshi
Wedding Date – Friday 8th September 2023
‘An intimate September wedding in Nottingham with a rustic theme of olive trees and floating candles’
Alberto, Treshi and their guests joined us from all over the world (Italy, Amsterdam, Sri Lanka just to name a few) on what was the hottest day of the year for 2023. Yes, I think we all remember that week in September, right?
They opted for a later ceremony for a more relaxed day, followed by their drinks reception in the house and our beautiful grounds, then back to the Elliott Suite for their buffet wedding breakfast, finished with their speeches and even some magic from Treshi’s dad to keep their guests entertained! With no extra evening guests, the Elliott Suite was quickly converted to their evening reception, ready to dance the night away!
If you’re looking for inspiration for an intimate wedding in Nottingham, we hear from Alberto and Treshi all about their wedding day and the planning process…
What was your inspiration for your special day?
Although neither of us are massive social media users, we browsed Instagram and Pintrest for inspiration. Part of our inspiration also came from previous weddings held at Cockliffe (so we’d definitely suggest having a look on their Instagram page). We were drawn towards all things rustic and often found ourselves intrigued by understated and minimalist decorations.
What was the best part of your day?
So hard to pick just one, though seeing each other at the end of the aisle was an extremely special moment.
Why did you choose Cockliffe Country House?
Cockliffe Country House is beautiful, it made us feel excited about planning our wedding here the first time we visited. We knew the Elliott Suite would be perfect for our intimate wedding. We also loved the landscape, it was hard to believe we were just under fifteen minutes from Nottingham City Centre!
How did you decide which menu was right for your day?
We opted for a buffet because we felt this allowed for a bit more mingling and created a relaxed ambiance. We selected dishes that we felt catered to different dietary needs and with absolutely no hesitation about quality and boy did you deliver! I’d love to have more Baileys Crème Brulé please…
What was the hardest part of your wedding planning?
Strangely, we enjoyed the whole process and luckily, we were both on the same page on most decisions.
What were your favourite parts of the Venue?
Cockliffe felt cosy, the perfect size for us. Planning our wedding with the team just made it all better. Huge shout out to our event manager Abi – you were a star! x
If you had any advice for couples planning their wedding, what would it be?
If you have any doubts about how the day should go, trust the Cockliffe team. Also choose what you like: it’s you day, after all. Finally: keep in mind that the whole thing goes fast, and it will be over before you know it – soak up every moment and do what makes both of you happy.
